Rapmaster is a free software toy written by Bryan K. “Beaker” Ressler. For detailed information about Rapmaster, choose "About Rapmaster" from the Apple menu or click on the Rapmaster logo at the top of the Rapmaster window.
All the drum loops and basslines you hear in Rapmaster were composed by the author in his home MIDI studio on Korg equipment and digitized with a MacroMedia MacRecorder.

Internally, Rapmaster uses a software module called the Asynchronous Sound Helper. For more details, see Apple's develop magazine, issue 11 (August, 1992).

• On really fast Macs (like Quadras), the BassMan and BeatBox may not come on every time you click their slide switches. This is due to a what's called a "race condition" — the computer completes a task TOO fast and fools Rapmaster. It'll be fixed soon.

Now if your computer doesn't have enough processing power to play any more simultaneous sounds, you get a "NOT!" graphic instead of an error alert.
Thanks to all of you who sent money even though you didn't have to. There's been such a huge response to the August 1993 Macworld review of Rapmaster that I'm unfortunately unable to personally thank the donators, but your contributions are greatly appreciated.
Rapmaster may be distributed freely, but never for profit. Please keep this file with the application when you upload Rapmaster to bulletin boards or distribute it to friends.
